The spirits were against us. Or were they?Water, sometimes known for its connection to paranormal activity, was to blame for our disastrous meeting. Due to a busted underground pipe, water service for Hollywood Blvd. was shut off. Musso and Frank’s Grill was forced to cancel dinner service and close their doors. GHOULA marched up and down “the boulevard of broken dreams” for an alternative haunted venue, but all other bars (ghostly or not) in the vicinity were also forced to close as well.
Tired and weary, GHOULA eventually had to settle for Mel’s Diner, located in the historic Max Factor Building and make due with rounds of sodas and milkshakes instead of the traditional cocktails. The strange turn of events however did not dampen the spirits of those that stayed. There were ghost stories a plenty from new members as well as an in depth discussion/debate of the nature of “orbs” in photos.The surprise guest of the evening was Steve Cohen (pictured above with the "13" tattoo on his wrist), the owner of Larchmont’s Village Pizzeria, who joined our discussion while waiting for a take-out order. It turns out that in addition to his passion for creating great pizza, he also has a passion for the number 13, which seems to invade his life from all angles. So, you can imagine his interest and delight encountering a group of people that meet every 13th of the month.

i visit hollywood and when i visit the max factor building i was on the 2 floor almost at the end facing some pictures exibition and something hold my right hand it was an extrange feeling i feelt like electricity dont know how to explain was a never felt feeling i look at my hand and saw marked fingers on my right hand just like when someone hold u hard and they take the hand out,i show my mother in that moment and she toldme maybe is a sign you should stay in this city" ,it was my first time a ghost presence touch me ,when i left i told the ticket lady downstairs and she told me she never heard nothing paranormal happened there,also before i took this trip the number 13 appear to me many times till was a bit scary i believe 13 is a good number,
my wife and I visited the Max Factor building this past week. While on the 3rd floor, my wife heard her name called 3 times. She thought it was me and she said it sounded like me. Problem is, I didn't call her and we are from NC so we have southern accents. That makes me slightly curious about the wonderful old building and its current residents.
A friend and myself went to the Marilyn Monroe event today August 4 2013 at Max Factor. We went through the ladies room hallway and our hair stood up on the back of our neck we later went to take pics there just because it was so weird in there. OMG we caught a lady's shadow sitting on the bench we know its a lady because of her white legs. What a trip. My friend said she can see orbs and a face in the door window in the same pictures.
